Leica Adapter for CYTYC-Rack available

This new metal Leica adapter accommodates a CYTYC rack for 20 slides and can be used with the Leica staining systems ST5010 Autostainer and ST5020 Multistainer as well as with the Leica CV5030 Coverslipper and the Stainer/Coverslipper combinations including integrating transfer stations TS 5015 respectively TS 5025.

The adapter has an almost similar shape and size of a Leica rack for 30 slides, but it has to be opened laterally for inserting the CYTYC rack plus slides.

CYTYC is a well known manufacturer of the ThinPrep® Pap Test. It is the common method for cervical cancer screening in the United States. It was developed to address the limitations of the conventional Pap smear, and it was approved in May 1996 by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a replacement for the conventional Pap smear.

The ThinPrep Pap Test is the only liquid-based cytology method approved by the U.S. FDA. Part of this FDA approval is the usage of special staining protocols in combination with the Leica ST5010 Autostainer.
