Our CV5030 does not detect the slides - what is wrong?
FAQ Report
A: Positioning error

Ensure that all parts (rack holder and rack) are inserted correctly and remove debris from the load container.

A: Slide detected as ‘out of tolerance’ (sensor adjustment issue)

During installation of the CV5030, the slide gripper sensor needs to be adjusted to a slide size typically used in the laboratory (“teach-in”). This setting determines the largest slide dimensions accepted by the instrument.

A:Slide quality issue

For automated coverslipping, a certain minimum slide quality is needed in order to allow trouble-free performance of the coverslipper. Slides with broken edges, for example, may cause problems for the slide gripper. We recommend using slides conforming to an international standard, such as ‘ISO 8037’.

A: Slide sensor error

Clean the slide sensor (located in the small silver housing on the right hand side of the loading bay) with a soft cloth which may be moistened with some xylene. After you have finished cleaning, ensure that no cloth fibers remain on the sensor.

A: Faulty rack

Ensure that the rack is completely intact, i.e. not broken or bent. If you are unsure whether the rack is in good enough condition, use a new one.
