Can I turn the printer off leaving the ink cartridge inserted?

You can turn off the printer for a short time (a couple of hours) when an ink cartridge is inserted. This time is highly dependent upon the temperature. At temperatures of more than 28°C (84° F), the ink could dry rapidly, requiring a service call for a thorough cleaning of the ink system. To prevent this occurrence, the ink cartridge should be replaced by the cleaning cartridge and cleaning fluid should be pumped through the system, as explained in the user's manual.
